Film Commission Torino Piemonte è una fondazione operativa dal 2000, voluta e sostenuta dalla Città di Torino e dalla Regione Piemonte, che ne sono i soci fondatori. Il suo scopo è la promozione della Regione Piemonte e del suo capoluogo Torino come location e luogo di lavoro d’eccellenza per la produzione cinematografica, televisiva e audiovisiva, attraverso l’attrazione sul territorio di produzioni italiane ed estere, e nello stesso tempo il sostegno all’industria locale, creando opportunità di lavoro per chi opera nel settore. La sede di Film Commission Torino Piemonte è l’ex lanificio Colongo di via Cagliari, edificio di inizio Novecento restaurato e riaperto nel 2008, di cui restano molti elementi strutturali originali, come il tetto a shed, la base della vecchia ciminiera, la muratura perimetrale con mattoni a vista e i serramenti. L’edificio ospita il Centro Sperimentale di Cinematografia (Sede Piemonte – Dipartimento Animazione), spazi per start-up e giovani imprenditori, la Sala Movie, utilizzata per proiezioni test, anteprime, conferenze stampa, incontri, workshop e presentazioni, la Sala Casting, destinata a provini e audizioni, spazi per le troupe ospiti, gli uffici di Film Commission, del TorinoFilmLab e del Creative Europe Desk Italia-Ufficio Media di Torino. Nei suoi spazi hanno inoltre sede una serie di strutture private operanti nel settore audiovisivo, dello spettacolo e degli eventi, come l’Accademia dei Folli, compagnia di musica e teatro, la Film Service, azienda di servizi per le produzioni cinematografiche e Ouvert, per il noleggio di attrezzature per video e cinema.

Film Commission Torino Piemonte is a foundation active since 2000 wanted and supported by the City of Turin and the Piedmont Region, which are its founding members. Its aim is the promotion of the Piedmont Region and its capital Turin as an excellent location and workplace for film, television and audiovisual production, through the attraction of Italian and foreign productions on the territory, and at the same time the support to the local industry, creating job opportunities for those who work in the sector. The headquarters of Film Commission Torino Piemonte is the former Colongo wool mill in via Cagliari, an early 20th century building restored and reopened in 2008, of which many original structural elements remain, such as the shed roof, the base of the old chimney, the perimeter masonry with exposed bricks and the windows and doors. The building houses the Centro Sperimentale di Cinematografia (Piedmont Headquarters – Animation Department), spaces for start-ups and young entrepreneurs, the Movie Room, which is used for test screenings, previews, press conferences, meetings, workshops and presentations, the Casting Room, which is intended for auditions, spaces for guest crews, and the Film Commission offices as well as the TorinoFilmLab and the Creative Europe Desk Italy-Media Office of Turin. It also houses a number of private facilities operating in the audiovisual, entertainment and events sector, such as the Accademia dei Folli, a music and theatre company, the Film Service, a service company for film productions, and Ouvert, a company for the rental of video and cinema equipment.
